Bio
Diamond Freeman, a native of Baltimore, MD is a dance educator, choreographer, and artistic leader grounded in academic excellence and purpose driven artistry. Her early enthusiasm for dance at the age of 4, paved the way for her formal training, with the Ava Fields Dance Ministry. Here, she studied Ballet, African, Modern, Jazz, and Tap, setting the stage for a promising career.
In 2006, Diamond's path led her to Western High School, where she joined the school's Dance Team, guided by the capable hands of Lori Goodman. Her commitment and unwavering determination shone through as she took on roles of leadership, culminating in her serving as the team's Captain for two of her four years.
Passionate and eager to pass on her knowledge, Diamond founded Divine Purpose Dance Ensemble (DPDE) in 2014, a dance ministry ensemble built to inspire, empower, and develop dance and worship artists through excellence and faith-centered movement. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and a Master of Arts in Teaching Dance from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, as well as an Associate of Arts in Dance Performance from Howard Community College, reflecting her unwavering commitment to cultivating the next generation of dancers.
Today, she leads DPDE while continuing to shape minds and bodies through dance education. Her professional experience includes 12 years as a dance educator at the Maryland Academy of Dance, as well as teaching at Baltimore City College and other programs throughout the dance community. With a legacy rooted in education, community, and creative impact, Diamond Freeman continues to influence the field of dance with vision, integrity, and transformative leadership.
